A group of Balinese artisans make this tabletop line in their small-scale workshops. The reed-like texture of each piece brings a classy and organic feel to your tablescapes.

These placemats provide an elegant and natural aesthetic with functional and versatile beauty, connecting earth, maker and owner. Use in living room or tablescape settings, or for outdoor dining and entertaining. Makes a meaningful gift for new homeowners, for holidays or celebrations. Compact and easy to care for.

These are handmade individually by talented artisans in Indonesia with water hyacinth, which is an invasive aquatic plant that grows remarkably quickly above water, forming thick layers over the water. These layers block sunlight from other aquatic plants - which leads to their decomposition, less oxygen, affecting fish too.

Harvesting invasive water hyacinth to make craft is a beautiful way to support environmental sustainability and sustainable craft. A great conversation piece when you’re gathered around the table with your faves.

Materials 100% water hyacinth hand-woven with 100% cotton thread.

The POKO Difference

Artisan made

We travel off the beaten path to bring you independently made products by makers connected to their local communities and environments. We focus on long-term relationships with them. Their skills shine through in their small-scale operations, resulting in quality craftsmanship that’s often individually handmade.

Directly traded

Fair trade is one thing & ensures a high degree of confidence that the people, the materials & the environment are not exploited in the supply chain. Direct trade on top of that means the artisan-to-Poko-to-you chain is transparent and, well...direct.

Materials matter

We strive to choose materials that have a minimal impact on the environment, and that stand up to the test of time & use. This means working with materials that the artisans choose and have access to, in tandem with developing new products with sustainability & durability in mind.

Shop with heart. Enjoy with soul.

Shop to create the kind of world you want your kids to inherit.

To live richly, we want to surround ourselves not just with beautiful things, but possessions that have meaning and represent the kind of world we would like to help create.

Quality Customer Care

We are truly a tiny team over here in Poko land and every email, query or review helps us feel connected to our shared mission, and to you! We wouldn’t be here without you.
