JOB FACTS & POKO PERKS
- Part time to full time hours depending on the season and project, generally estimated at 30 hours per week
- Schedule can be flexible depending on social media and content needs, generally hours are completed during regular business hours plus two weekends of content publication per month estimated at 1-3 hours per weekend at optimized times

EXPERIENCE
- Minimum 1-2 years of social media management and content creation experience
- Experience in growing a following on social media for a mid-size startup and nurturing an online community an asset
- Experience in developing engaging and relevant social content
- Strong video editing is a major asset
- Experience with Google Suite (Sheets, Docs, Gmail, Drive) and Dropbox an asset, not required
- Passion for the home decor and fashion industries an asset, not required
- Fluency in English required, comfort in using Google Translate to translate English text into French required, French language skills as asset but not required
- Driver's license, access to a vehicle, and ability to confidently drive not required but an asset
SKILLS
- Strong content creation ability with video and photo on mobile phone - ability to use more complex cameras as asset
- Content creation for social media, strong familiarity with photography and videography principles
- Video editing, familiar with Adobe Premiere or other high-end video editing software
- Knowledge of, familiarity with, and passion for, multiple social media platforms including but not limited to: Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok. Strong familiarity with LinkedIn, YouTube, Threads and Pinterest an asset.
- Ability to use and design social content in Canva, an understanding of basic design principles
- Strong time management and communication skills
- Exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal skills
- Strong writing skills to craft impactful copy for social media, capable of writing blogs
- Basic SEO understanding
- Procedural, organized, and efficient at quality execution
- Ability to streamline strategies and scale tasks to increase productivity

RESPONSIBILITIES
Content Creation & Social Calendar
- Curate content using social best practices according to each platform’s algorithm for high engagement, audience growth, driving website traffic and conversions
- Work with the Ecommerce Marketing Manager to coordinate Poko’s annual marketing calendar and all associated campaigns as they relate to each social media platform
- Create a dynamic social media content calendar 2-4 weeks in advance, that achieves strong KPIs through effective content planning and customer and community engagement, that aligns with Poko’s brand pillars
- Directing reels and shoots for social media content including writing scripts, planning aesthetics and props, researching ideas and trends, etc
- Maintaining and archiving Poko’s digital asset library
- Keep your finger on the pulse of social media by staying up to date on trends on all platforms
- Participating in weekly Organic Marketing meeting with Marketing Team to discuss strategy, calendar, content, and tasking for short and long term - occasional additional meetings are scheduled as needed
- Maintain regular communication via phone, Slack, and email with the Poko Team between meetings - expect daily communication during the work week in service of optimization of time and efficiency
- Visiting the Poko brick-and-mortar shop locations to create content
- Meet timelines and due dates as established by the Poko Team, specifically Case, Jess, and Poko’s Ecommerce Marketing Manager
- Create email for Pokoloko’s B2B calendar with direction from founders
Giveaways, Influencers & Social Events
- Manage projects and events relating to social media inclusive of giveaways, sample sales, collaboration posts, social partnership activations, etc.
- Execute monthly giveaway activation with multiple brand partners which includes: planning several months ahead, recruiting suitable brands, coordinating the logistics of pre-planning, day of execution, and post-giveaway follow up
- Manage monthly influencer campaigns with the objective of obtaining UGC in service of Poko’s marketing campaigns - this includes but is not limited to outreach to new and current influencers, managing correspondence with content creators, ensuring activations are completed in full and deliverables are met, and naming and archiving content
- Support the execution of brand-accreditive partnerships, campaigns, and programs that reinforce brand equity and positioning
Community Management
- Answering messages and comments on all platforms according the Poko’s Community Management guidelines
- Engage authentically after publishing content, and with tagged content, on all platforms
- Ensure an excellent customer care experience for the social community, work with Poko’s Operations Team to ensure prompt and comprehensive service as needed
- Working with the Poko community in a way that supports an inclusive and delightful environment
- Manage Poko’s social media accounts minimum two weekends per month (usually totals 1-3 hours of work per weekend) - we accommodate two weekends off per month, as well as vacation and holidays off
