    FAQ's

Q: What are some fun alpaca facts?
To l earn more about alpacas, click here.
Q: Does it hurt the alpaca to get its fleece?
Alpacas are not harmed while their fleece is harvested. In fact, alpaca wool is one of the most ethical fibres available. Farmers take great care in gently shearing the wool and releasing the animal back to roam freely. Alpaca fibre does not contain lanolin, meaning it does not require strong chemicals to clean it.
Q: What does baby alpaca mean?
Baby alpaca refers to the first gentle shearing of the adult alpaca's fleece. This is the fibre sheared from the softest part of the alpaca, usually from the chest area. Fibres are then separated by hand.
Q: If I get my alpaca wool socks wet, will they still keep me warm?
Depending on how soaked your socks are, alpaca has an ability to resist water and, even when damp, provide warmth. The hollow fibres of the alpaca fibre trap air in their core which provides enduring insulation.
