We have been in business for 7 years.
Where is your company located? What makes this location special to you and your shop?
Olive & Birch is located right in the heart of downtown Lloydminster.
What's your elevator pitch - your company summary in a nutshell?
Olive & Birch is a home décor and custom blind store, exclusively carrying Hunter Douglas. We offer a range of products from renowned home, kitchen and beauty brands such as Hillberg & Berk, Pyrrah, Staub, Henckel, Maison Berger, Pokoloko, and Brunelli. We also offer a variety of local vendors such as Beauty from Bees, Simple Farmer, Lake Life Caesar, Jacek Chocolate, and many more!
What sets us apart is that we are a one stop shop for home décor and gifts. Because we have such a large space, we are able to offer a consistently large selection of home décor, kitchen and accessories. We have found that gift giving is more important than ever and thus have dedicated more space to a variety of unique gifts. We are different from many other stores in the fact that we offer custom ordering on many pieces and go above and beyond to make our customers happy. We also have a very vibrant and interactive social media channel as well as online shopping which allows our customers to stay engaged.

What inspires you for your product sourcing?
We pull inspiration from everywhere including friends, social media, other shops, etc. We do love to attend gift shows when we can, and look forward to doing that again in the near future. We gravitate towards products we love, and love to see in our own home, as well as unique pieces that you can't find anywhere else. We of course love to support local, and try to feature as many Canadian vendors as we can in our store.
What's your favourite Pokoloko product, and why?
Kalla's is her fleece lined blanket, Tasha’s is the Turkish hand towels, and Britany's (Social Media Manager) is the poncho for her little one.
What’s a memorable, hilarious or embarrassing shop moment?
We just celebrated our 5th birthday this spring, and enjoyed cutting the cake with all of our amazing staff! It is great to look back at how far we have come, and what we have to look forward to in the future.
What style tip would you share for folk using a Pokoloko product?
When looking to style some dead space in your home, we love the idea of using decorative baskets and/or trays to fill it such as the Henna trays, the Raffia Heart, and the rattan wall plates. These products bring such natural elements to a space.
