What's your elevator pitch - your company summary in a nutshell?
The Room Collection offers a curated selection of quality furniture and unique home decor.
From Canadian-made wall art to custom upholstered furniture, from locally made gifts to bed linen, lighting and candles, we have gathered a fabulous range of 'beautiful things for life'!
What inspires you for your product sourcing?
We work hard to gather a collection of pieces that bring both inspiration and ease to our customer's homes.
We look for furniture that combines style with function and accessories that walk that line between trend and timelessness.
We are always on the lookout for items with "quirk" that speak to people and make them smile!
What's your favourite Pokoloko product, and why?
So much to choose from!
We love the crinkle collection - so soft and with a gorgeous weight to it. The bedcovers are a sumptuous addition to any bedscape, and the throws are perfect for snuggling up in, either indoors or out.
How long have you been carrying Pokoloko?
We've been carrying Pokoloko for 6 months!
What’s a memorable, hilarious or embarrassing shop moment?
We have a much-loved ShopDog, Monte, who's a fan favourite with the customers.
When he sits in the window displays, he's a beacon for passersby to pop in for a pat and a chat!
As it happens, he is flax coloured and very soft, so many who don't know about him, think he's a pillow on the floor until he moves!
What style tip would you share for folk using a Pokoloko product?
We love the fleece lined throws, but not just for living or bedrooms!
The Okanagan is such an outdoors based lifestyle, we love them for warming you as you spend evenings on the patio, go for a cool-ish, windy boat ride or (our fave), tucking away from the kids and using them as a blanket for your yoga practice!
Any other information you feel inspired to share about your shop?
The Room Collection is an independent, female-owned and operated business!
Karen and Alison met in Kindergarten and after years as BFFs, did what no friends should do and went into business together!
The learning curve has been steep, the successes are always celebrated and the belly laughs run long and loud!
