Poko is seeking a personable part-time shop associate for our Almonte location on the beautiful and unique Mill St. The ideal candidate loves creating connections with customers, meeting sales goals, maintaining a beautiful retail space, and being part of a team in a friendly and fun retail environment.

QUICK FACTS

  • Approximately 16 hours per week with regular opportunities for additional hours
  • Competitive hourly compensation based on experience and demonstrated success
  • Start date as soon as possible
  • Regular schedule will be 1-2 days per week; however, the schedule could sometimes include other weekdays, weekends, and holiday shifts
  • Opportunities to work at other Poko locations including the Westboro Shop in Ottawa, the Poko Warehouse in Hull, and events such as the Ottawa Christmas Market

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide all customers with the highest level of support in person and on the phone, ensuring satisfaction, brand championship, and loyalty
  • Upsell customers, communicate marketing campaigns and offers, and provide styling support and product knowledge
  • Process payments and maintain accurate till transactions, including cash and card sales via our Shopify POS system, and complete daily cash counts
  • Manage shop inventory and supplies accurately and in accordance with company systems and procedures
  • Open and close the shop according to Poko procedure
  • Troubleshoot tech and space issues as they arise, with support from the Poko Team
  • Work independently on the shop floor with team support available via phone, text, and in person as needed
  • Complete shop tasks including cleaning, pricing, organizing backstock, restocking, and merchandising product displays
  • Communicate product and shop improvements and customer feedback to the Poko Team

EXPERIENCE

  • Strong sales, interpersonal, and communication skills
  • Ability to work and solve problems independently with remote support
  • Experience in sales, retail, merchandising, and/or customer service is an asset
