This is a luxe, ultra soft, and versatile scarf, perfect gift for friends, family, teachers, and for yourself.
This scarf is hand-loomed, machine-woven, and then machine-brushed for added softness. This unique, artisanal scarf collection is made by a family of Indigenous artisans living in the volcanic mountains of Ecuador. The order of which the colors are woven vary from scarf to scarf, however the colors you see remain the same with each - making it a truly unique artisan gift.
Pokoloko co-owner Case Bakker is the godfather to their youngest daughter, which is a great honor in their community. We are honored to be able to support them through a sustainable, fair trade relationship. The colors and patterns in these scarves is a result of self-directed generational knowledge that has been passed on by this artisan family and their surrounding community for decades.

Unfortunately the colours in the photo are vibrant and vivid, in reality they are not. It‘s true that’s a picture and a risk that comes with not seeing the actual object, but still disappointing.
Hello Dana,
We’re sorry to hear the colours didn’t meet your expectations. We always aim for our photos to reflect our products as accurately as possible, but we understand that lighting and screen settings can make a difference.
Thank you for leaving us a review, I wil bring your feedback to my team's attention.

It's very warm and high quality! So happy I bought this for myself!
The scarf is vibrant as shown in photos and keeps my neck warm. However, I find the material frustrating to deal with whenever I wear them. Everytime I wear them around my neck, bits of wool/acrylic strands would fly everywhere. I had strands caught in my mouth and tongue several times from wearing the scarf almost every single day (without wiping my mouth with the scarf). I wouldn't stop thinking about the next strand possibly being in my mouth when eating, drinking, or breathing while wearing the scarf. :(
Lovely warm and colorful to wear.
Thank you so much for sharing your delight! ♥️
The POKO Difference
-
Artisan made
We travel off the beaten path to bring you independently made products by makers connected to their local communities and environments. We focus on long-term relationships with them. Their skills shine through in their small-scale operations, resulting in quality craftsmanship that’s often individually handmade.
-
Directly traded
Fair trade is one thing and ensures a high degree of confidence that the people, the materials and the environment are not exploited in the supply chain. Direct trade on top of that means the artisan-to-Poko-to-you chain is transparent and, well...direct.
-
Materials mater
We strive to choose materials that have a minimal impact on the environment, and that stand up to the test of time & use. This means working with materials that the artisans choose and have access to, in tandem with developing new products with sustainability & durability in mind.
Shop with heart. Enjoy with soul.
To live richly, we want to surround ourselves not just with beautiful things, but possessions that have meaning and represent the kind of world we would like to help create.
-
Carbon neutral
To offset the carbon footprint of your order from production to processing to shipment, every purchase plants two trees to offset the CO2 emissions. We are constantly seeking new ways to innovate our sustainability practices - this is our social responsibility and commitment for the planet & all that grow on it.
-
Quality customer care
We are truly a tiny team over here in Poko land and every email, query or review helps us feel connected to our shared mission, and to you! We wouldn’t be here without you. From speedy shipping with flat rates, quick responses, and quality assurance - we take pride in the work we do. You’re a part of that - so, thank you!
-
Purpose purchase
Whether it's the socio-economic development of the artisans and their communities we work with (for example: interest-free microloans) or giveback products or campaigns; we believe that if we have a platform, it is way more fulfilling to use it for the good of our local and global neighbours.
