Classic lightweight scarf and elegant colour combinations - a timeless go-to for a quick accent.

These scarves are made in collaboration with the art, design and textile studio Calica Studio, made up of two female, Canadian artists Meghan Macdonald (Halifax) and Rebecca Horwitz (Toronto). Calica creates surface designs for textiles using found materials, photographs, drawings and paintings.

These scarf designs began as watercolour paintings, many Calica designs begin using traditional art materials before moving into a digital format. Meghan and Rebecca then scanned the paintings, and began working on them digitally, making adjustments to the watercolours and formatting the designs to be printed scarves. Like the Poko collection, each Calica design has a story to tell, which made this creative collaboration centered around friendship, such a natural fit with the Poko community.

The result is a collection of accessories produced in small batches, each with a story to tell.

The POKO Difference

Artisan made

We travel off the beaten path to bring you independently made products by makers connected to their local communities and environments. We focus on long-term relationships with them. Their skills shine through in their small-scale operations, resulting in quality craftsmanship that’s often individually handmade.

Directly traded

Fair trade is one thing & ensures a high degree of confidence that the people, the materials & the environment are not exploited in the supply chain. Direct trade on top of that means the artisan-to-Poko-to-you chain is transparent and, well...direct.

Materials matter

We strive to choose materials that have a minimal impact on the environment, and that stand up to the test of time & use. This means working with materials that the artisans choose and have access to, in tandem with developing new products with sustainability & durability in mind.

Shop with heart. Enjoy with soul.

Shop to create the kind of world you want your kids to inherit.

To live richly, we want to surround ourselves not just with beautiful things, but possessions that have meaning and represent the kind of world we would like to help create.

Learn more about us

Carbon neutral

To offset the carbon footprint of your order from production to processing to shipment, every purchase plants two trees to offset the CO2 emissions. We are constantly seeking new ways to innovate our sustainability practices - this is our social responsibility and commitment for the planet & all that grow on it.

Quality Customer Care

We are truly a tiny team over here in Poko land and every email, query or review helps us feel connected to our shared mission, and to you! We wouldn’t be here without you. From speedy shipping with flat rates, quick responses, and quality assurance - we take pride in the work we do. You’re a part of that - so, thank you!

Purpose purchase

Whether it's the socio-economic development of the artisans and their communities we work with (for example: interest-free microloans) or giveback products or campaigns; we believe that if we have a platform, it is way more fulfilling to use it for the good of our local and global neighbours.
