Poko is seeking personable seasonal shop associates for our three pop-ups this holiday season at the St Laurent Shopping Center, the Lansdowne Christmas Market, and the STACKT container in the Byward Market. Positions available immediately and until January 5, 2025, with possibility of work past January 5, 2025. The ideal candidate loves creating connections with customers, meeting sales goals, maintaining a beautiful retail space, and being a part of a team in a friendly and fun retail environment.

This fourth quarter, we're adding three pop-up retail locations to our existing two permanent locations in Westboro and Almonte. RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide all customers with the highest level of customer support in person and occasionally on the phone, ensuring customer satisfaction, brand championship, and loyalty.
- Greeting and servicing customers, answering customer questions, assisting customers in making purchases, offering styling support and product knowledge.
- Upselling customers including sharing offers and promoting a marketing calendar of sales events and marketing messaging throughout the year.
- Process payments, and maintain accurate till transactions, including cash and card sales with our Shopify POS system. Complete daily cash counts.
- Ensuring the shop inventory and supplies are managed accurately and according to company systems and procedures. Ensuring the shop is well stocked with product and supplies as needed. Complete regular inventory assessments. Communicate inventory discrepancies and inventory reporting to the Poko Team.
- Open and close the shop according to Poko procedure. Uphold all shop procedures and policies.
- Troubleshoot tech and space issues as they may arise, with the support of the Poko Team.
- Working independently as the only Poko sales associate on the shop floor supported by your team via phone, text, and in person support as needed, with some physical crossover with other team members.
- Complete shop tasks including cleaning, pricing product, organizing backstock, restocking, and merchandising product displays.
- Communicate to the Poko Team product and shop improvements, and customer feedback.
- Be reliable, punctual, positive, efficient, accountable, and consistent.
- Represent the Poko brand with a high level of professionalism when communicating and interacting with other companies, customers, influencers, press, and the Ottawa community.
- Attend quarterly trainings, which we often host one weekday evening per quarter.
EXPERIENCE & ASSETS
- Ability to solve problems independently, with remote support
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- 1+ year of customer service is an asset though not required
- Sales, merchandising, and/or retail experience is an asset though not required
