There are no drab or dreary days when your head is covered in this celebration of color and design; made with one of the highest performing technical fibers on the planet.
Peruvian alpaca is a natural, technical fiber with remarkable thermal properties - allowing air circulation on warm days (prevents sweating), and heat insulation on cool days (contains heat). This hat features a composition of solely baby-alpaca, which means that it’s made with fleece from the very first sheer of an alpaca.
Alpacas are shorn once per year, and the hair from the first sheer of an alpaca is remarkably soft. This is an ethical and humane process; no animals are ever harmed for Pokoloko products. They’ve woven this luxury fiber into a timeless design, with colors that complement your outerwear.

This replaced one that my wife has had for a few years and wore all winter. Evidently someone else saw it and liked it a lot as well. She swears by the weight (not too much) and the size (just right for all that hair). I'm not jealous, really I'm not. She loves this hat and when it was lost/taken, she was very upset. I ordered a new one right away and it arrived amazingly fast. We both appreciate the environmental and social efforts made by Pokoloko, and that you are Canadian as well.
My Bella Alpaca hat is thin, yet very warm. Shades of green, red and blue mix in a complementary way, so that matches everything I wear.
My son is obsessed with his new hat … and that’s saying a lot from a Fashion Designer !
It’s awesome
WAY too thin. Will not stand up to the cold in a New England winter.
It is a beautiful design, light weight and excellent craftsmanship but it is not warm. The wind blows right through it the delicate weave. I sewed in a fleece ear band which makes it toasty warm but detracts a bit from the shape of the hat. I suggest this hat would be good for short outdoor trips in cold weather.
The POKO Difference
-
Artisan made
We travel off the beaten path to bring you independently made products by makers connected to their local communities and environments. We focus on long-term relationships with them. Their skills shine through in their small-scale operations, resulting in quality craftsmanship that’s often individually handmade.
-
Directly traded
Fair trade is one thing and ensures a high degree of confidence that the people, the materials and the environment are not exploited in the supply chain. Direct trade on top of that means the artisan-to-Poko-to-you chain is transparent and, well...direct.
-
Materials mater
We strive to choose materials that have a minimal impact on the environment, and that stand up to the test of time & use. This means working with materials that the artisans choose and have access to, in tandem with developing new products with sustainability & durability in mind.
Shop with heart. Enjoy with soul.
To live richly, we want to surround ourselves not just with beautiful things, but possessions that have meaning and represent the kind of world we would like to help create.
-
Carbon neutral
To offset the carbon footprint of your order from production to processing to shipment, every purchase plants two trees to offset the CO2 emissions. We are constantly seeking new ways to innovate our sustainability practices - this is our social responsibility and commitment for the planet & all that grow on it.
-
Quality customer care
We are truly a tiny team over here in Poko land and every email, query or review helps us feel connected to our shared mission, and to you! We wouldn’t be here without you. From speedy shipping with flat rates, quick responses, and quality assurance - we take pride in the work we do. You’re a part of that - so, thank you!
-
Purpose purchase
Whether it's the socio-economic development of the artisans and their communities we work with (for example: interest-free microloans) or giveback products or campaigns; we believe that if we have a platform, it is way more fulfilling to use it for the good of our local and global neighbours.
